(BadgerChatters Newswire) – Basketball: Badgers (2-0) enter its first-round game of the Maui Invitational (11 p.m. tonight, ESPN2) against Arizona (2-0).
Football: Badgers fall out of polls. The Wisconsin football team finished in a tie for fourth in the Big Ten, after losing at Northwestern by two points on Saturday.
The Badgers and Wildcats were both 5-and-3 in league play. And Wisconsin dropped out of the A-P and U-S-A Today Top-25’s, as well as the B-C-S Standings.
Ohio State won the conference at 7-and-1. Iowa and Penn State tied for second at 6-and-2.
The Badgers close out their regular season at Hawaii on December fifth. The Rainbows have won their last three games.
Men’s Hockey: Head men’s hockey coach Mike Eaves has announced the signing of seven student-athletes to national letters of intent during the early signing period. The group includes forwards Tyler Barnes (Eagan, Minn.), Jefferson Dahl (Eau Claire, Wis.), Sean Little (Fond du Lac, Wis.), Michael Mersch (Park Ridge, Ill.) and Mark Zengerle (Rochester, N.Y.), as well as defensemen Chase Drake (Mosinee, Wis.) and Frankie Simonelli (Bensenville, Ill.).
Women’s Basketball: Badgers come from behind to sink Vikings, 70-68. Wisconsin trailed by as many as 15 points against Cleveland State Sunday but a Taylor Wurtz jumper in the paint put the Badgers ahead 69-68 with 1:39 remaining. The Badger freshman then went 1-for-2 from the free throw line to seal the 70-68 UW victory in front of 4,384 fans at the Kohl Center.
